Information for researchers
Research funding
The Institute for a Broadband-Enabled Society actively funds research projects through a variety of mechanisms such as seed funding and through commissioning research in conjunction with industry partners.
Seed Funding
IBES calls for seed funding applications every year.
Additionally the University of Melbourne's Research Office provides a round of interdisciplinary seed funding.
Supporting Grant Applications
IBES is always keen to partner on grant applications, and are generally able to provide in-kind support if the research aligns with IBES' interests. In exceptional circumstances we are able to provide cash support, however we do not provide cash contributions to ARC applications. We do provide top-up funding for successful ARC applications at align with IBES' research agenda. For more information please contact research@broadband.unimelb.edu.au
Events
IBES hosts a number of events that are of interest to the research community.

Top-Up Scholarships are available for Graduate Research Students who receive or will receive an eligible primary scholarship for full time study at the University of Melbourne and who undertake a research project within IBES. Applications are called for in November each year.
Visiting scholars
